Countdown T-minus 7 days...

Today's blog entry features a post from Event Coordinator, Deb Sivigny!

One of the many awesome things about hosting Rorschach: X is working with the many generous vendors and businesses that donate goods and services.

One of our silent auction sponsors was just featured in the Washington Post Magazine.

Lilly's Closet is a wardrobe styling firm created by Margaret Lilly. She is a styling goddess that will transform your look from average to amazing!
You'll have a chance to bid for her services at Rorschach: X on Saturday night!

Buy those tickets now, folks!

Benefit

So sorry for not being in the kind of constant contact I usually am with you faithful readers.

Just to tell you some quick and dirty news, the benefit was a great success. Money is still being counted but around 100 people enjoyed an evening of dancing and drinking with Rorschach on Saturday night. Thanks to everyone who made it possible, including Maggie, Deb, Scott Chew, Grady, Randy, Jenny, Patrick, Matt, Melissa, Lauren, Ronnie and Melanie.

We will have photos for you very soon.

Rorschach Doc

I spent the last two evenings with Grady Weatherford. Grady is in the process of documenting on video the first 9 years of Rorschach. I know only 8 seasons yet 9 years of history, what happened? Well a lot of stuff.

Grady has been working with Company Members and our Artistic Directors to create a special Behind the Curtain style documentary showing the steps and missteps that have created one of Washington's most in your face theater companies.

This Special Film will have its premiere at the Rorschach Benefit, May 10th, just in case you needed another reason to come besides the drinking, dancing and fancy masks.

I will have other things to tell you about the event in the coming days, but here are some teases for the video:

Which Rorschach Company have had more than just their roles padded?

What was literally and figuratively Rorschach's hottest show?

Where did the company come from any way?

And whose favorite show was A Clearing in the Woods?

I promise all of these answers and more will shock and amuse you!

Benefits and Stetsons

Here is another hint about what is happening May 10th. Well less of a hint really and more of a damn that is a fine looking post card image for the Black & White Masquerade Ball Announcement.

That's right the Rorschach Masquerade is back and better than ever. And you all have a chance to get a discounted ticket to one of the hottest open bar events of the year 2008.

If you can get your tail sections over to Stetsons on U Street this Monday, April 14th, you can not only be among the first people to purchase tickets to our swanky benefit but you can be one of the cheapest folks there as well. Tickets that would run you $50 will only run you $20. That's right for the price of a ride from Dupont Circle to Adams Morgan with a crooked cab driver you can spend the evening with Rorschach, a DJ and all the wine and beer you can drink.

You also get to wear a mask and some sweet dress that you have been saving to look particularly tasty in for the ladies (and some men) or a suit that you haven't worn since you were confirmed for the guys.

And if that weren't enough we will also be announcing the Theme for our next edition of Myth-Appropriations at Stetsons as well. What will it be?

This is a great time to be in Exile. You should really think about joining us as we rove the city like a pack of wild rabid hedge hogs looking for a home.

See you at Stetsons next Monday at 7pm. We'll be the ones upstairs making all of the noise!
